Witnessing God's Way #1 Witnessing Experiences For
several months I have been witnessing to Jorge, who spent two years in the Matamoros jail. He has been attending Bible
studies at our Center in Matamoros, expressing a desire to 'serve God'. Last night he startled everyone when he shouted
out - in the middle of the study - 'I see it! - Jesus paid all my sin debt !- all my sins are forgiven!'
With sincere joy he continued saying 'I feel a freedom I never felt before!' Later, he told me that he had read my Gospel
tract many times (All The Debt Is Paid), Wisdom Lessons - God will give fruit when we patiently witness
to the unsaved. Only God the Holy Spirit can reveal Christ to a lost sinner . Doctor U is my favorite Doctor because of his kindness and openness. I determined to witness to him at the end of my appointment. His nurse came in to take my vital signs and immediately asked what I thought about the financial crisis. I answered: ‘It’s interesting you ask me, because I am a Debt Consultant, and I am supposed to tell you ‘All of Your Debt is Paid’. The young lady was transfixed as I explained and gave her some Scriptures. She thanked me three times and twice said “no one has ever told me this before.” I decided that I would not witness to Doctor U, because the nurse would surely tell him – but God had other plans ------- Wisdom Lesson? We are to witness believing that the Holy Spirit in every opportunity is preparing hearts. #3 Witnessing Experiences Doctor U examined me and we had a good conversation, but I had decided not to witness to him today. He started out the door and abruptly turned around to tell me: “I am leaving this area and will recommend you to another Doctor”. I asked him why he was leaving and it seemed he wanted to tell me of his financial problems. Then I had to tell him: “All Your Debt Is Paid”. He listened with interest and thanked me twice as I explained. ---That’s one-half of the story!---- Today I went to Doctor V, who did my knee replacement. He is a great Christian and I always have good fellowship with him. In our conversation, I asked him if he knew Doctor U. He said he had befriended and witnessed to Doctor U. for several years. When I told him how I witnessed to Doctor U. yesterday, he rejoiced and asked, “Did you know that he is an atheist?” We marveled about how God miraculously coordinates the witnessing of His children. We coveted together to pray for the salvation of Doctor U. Wisdom Lesson? We are to witness by faith.. We do not need to know anything about the unsaved we witness to ---God knows everything about them. #4 Witnessing Experiences I have witnessed to most of the workers at the clinic where I go for knee therapy. Iris, a young lady therapist seemed to avoid me – maybe she had heard that I was giving a message to everyone who gave me a massage. Today, however, she had to oversee an exercise for me and I asked, “Iris, did you know All of Your Sin Debt is Paid?” With her answer she reminded me of the Samaritan woman (John Chapter 4), who turned from the subject of eternal life to talk about religion. Iris said, “I was attending a Church, but they all said I was wicked to go dancing – and I like dancing a lot! Now I am ashamed to go back!”. I explained that when she puts her faith in Jesus she will not only receive forgiveness, but then He will show her in His Word what He wants her to do and not to do. WISDOM LESSON: Many religious people believe they must live ‘ good enough’ to receive salvation. We must continue telling them – “By grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God”. Ephesians 2:8-10. #5 Witnessing Experiences Javier stopped in my driveway the other day and stepped out to ask directions. As we talked, he began to tell me of his accident and health problems with three months in the hospital. At one point he was dying and the Doctor told him to call a Pastor or Priest. Javier knew a neighbor who was a Pastor, so called him to ‘pray over him. ’Too, he told me his wife was a Baptist and ‘believed in God’. Yet, when I explained that ‘All Your Sin Debt is Paid’ and forgiveness can be yours by believing , he said, ‘I have never heard that before’. There, standing in my driveway, he prayed and called on Jesus for forgiveness and eternal life. Wisdom Lesson: In all places, all times and in all circumstances God will bless a witness to poor lost sinners. Our common opportunities could be God’s divine appointments! |
